greendex

online magazine video-ad

client: Greendex

This thought-provoking video ad was created for Greendex, an online sustainability magazine, as part of their campaign titled "Panic is not sustainable." Targeted towards the Gen-Z demographic, the video begins with a dark subway scene featuring young people engrossed in their phones. Their faces glow in the darkness, illuminated by emojis and popping messages, building a sense of rising tension. The jarring atmosphere, coupled with sound effects and rapid visual elements, emphasizes the growing disconnection and environmental concerns.
The scene then shifts to a peaceful alternative: people gathering outdoors, communicating directly, and planting trees—a symbol of a sustainable, conscious life. The shift from digital isolation to community interaction mirrors the campaign's message, advocating for environmental awareness and positive change.
The animation used a colorful, collage style with detailed yet clean visuals. The tone transitions from a panic-inducing, high-energy environment to one of calm and resolution, reinforcing the need for sustainability in a more hopeful light. One of the biggest challenges lay in selecting and editing from a wide range of static photos and video footage to build the visual elements for this animation. The client was highly pleased with the result.
