Roman d’Amour

AI driven editorial motion study

This self-initiated project explores AI as a directorial tool rather than a shortcut. The focus is on shaping mood, rhythm and visual intention through tightly controlled prompts, pacing and repetition. Distortion, pixel shift and instability are used as a visual language, moving between clarity and abstraction, control and tension.

Beyond experimentation, the work is about authorship. AI is used to choreograph images, camera behavior and presence, not to generate ideas but to direct them. Scenes function like fragments of a larger editorial narrative, connected by tone, texture and restraint rather than explanation.

The emotional core of the piece is shaped by the music Roman d’Amour by Alastair Lane and Sarah Degny. The track sets the soul of the work, guiding its sense of intimacy, longing and quiet intensity, and informs the pacing and visual decisions throughout.

This direction reflects a growing interest in editorial and film driven motion, where visuals are intentional, minimal and emotionally weighted. AI becomes part of the process of directing images, not the subject of the work itself.
